"Darius Goes West", winner of 25 acclaimed film awards, was the feature film of Movie, Mingle, Munch charity fundraiser February 24, 2009. Chef Sara was requested to cater the reception for the 300+ guests, including Darius and his film crew. This event was dedicated to some local youth who are afflicted with Muscular Dystrophy. On July 27, 2009, Chef Sara was blessed to be able to provide a meal for the volunteer crew of the St. Bernard Project. Sara was in New Orleans for a National Personal Chef Conference and stayed a few extra days so she could meet the staff and crew of this organization.

Chef Sara is headed to Texas in July 2009 to cook for the Deaflympics Track and Field Training Camp! You can be involved too! Here's how: Go to their website, check out the wonderful things they are doing and consider a tax-deductible donation. All athletes raise their own funds, some of them cannot even attend the training camp due to lack of funding. The Deaflympics are coming up very quickly in September 2009 in Taipei, Taiwan.

On April 23, 2009, Chef Sara joined with several other area chefs to participate in the Art Of Dining Fundraiser Gala. The event was held in the Freemont district of downtown Seattle benefiting the Women's Funding Alliance . Chef Sara joined ranks with dozens of prominent women chefs for this black tie extravaganza. Debra Lane of Chef 2 Go in Bothell, WA provided an exquisite four course meal for attending guests. Chef Sara assisted her friend Debra along with Kelly Currier and Judy Tallant, of Tallant House in Monroe, who provided the desserts. Together they focused their combined talents on two lucky tables. It was a spectacular evening that included fund raising via a live and silent auction orated by Evening Magazine's John Curly. All of the chefs involved look forward to returning next year to help bring awareness to this wonderful cause.
